“It was unfortunate. It was essentially an exchange with our fans seated near me,” Jones explained during a Tuesday interview. “Present was a swarm of Cowboys fans—not New York fans, Cowboys fans. The entire stadium was filled with enthusiasm for the Cowboys.”
He further clarified that the gesture was completely unintentional, occurring amid the excitement following the team’s last score. “I simply showed the incorrect finger,” he remarked. “The action was accidentally performed. I’m not kidding. If you want to call it accidental, you can. But it got resolved rapidly.”
